The Lion Lights
Michael Kahumbu lives with his big family in Africa. He has been helping his father to take care 30 ______ their sheep since he was nine years old. Unfortunately, lions’ attacks on farm animals are quite common in their region. One day the boy decided to protect their sheep and 31 ______ lions’ attacks. While walking around the pasture late in the evening Michael noticed that lions were afraid of his moving flashlight and stayed away from their place.
Soon he realised how to trick the wild cougars. As a true innovator, he was eager to experiment without worrying that his 32 ______ might not work. This boy, who had taken apart old machines since he was very small, began working on his invention. Despite his 33 ______of any formal training in electrical engineering, he designed a system of flashing LED light bulbs on poles and placed it around their pasture.
