Task 4. Imagine that you and your friend are doing a school project “Hobbies”. You have found some illustrations and want to share the news. Leave a voice message to your friend. In 2.5 minutes be ready to:
·explain the choice of the illustrations for the project by briefly describing them and noting
the differences;
·mention the advantages (12) of the two hobbies;
·mention the disadvantages (12) of the two hobbies;
·express your opinion on the subject of the project which of these hobbies you’d prefer and why.
You will speak for not more than 3 minutes (1215 sentences). You have to talk continuously.

Что нужно сделать. 1) объяснить выбор фотографий, кратко описав их и отметив различия; 2) назвать 1–2 достоинства двух увлечений; 3) назвать 1–2 недостатка этих увлечений; 4) высказать мнение — какое из этих увлечений вы предпочли бы и почему.

Sophie, so I've been thinking about our hobbies project all morning, and I've settled on two photos. They're about as different as hobbies get, actually. One shows a young woman kneeling in a garden, digging with a shovel to plant a young tree. The other has a man in a chef's hat cooking in his kitchen while a camera on a tripod films the whole thing. Digging in the soil quietly and cooking in front of a camera don't have much in common, which is what makes the pair work for the project.
Gardening's relaxing, obviously, and you get fresh air while watching something actually grow. Filming cooking videos is more creative, though, and it can genuinely bring you new friends online. The downside of gardening is patience — plants take forever and need constant care. Making videos has its own stress, since you're cooking, planning and talking to a camera all at the same time.
I'd go for gardening myself — I like calm stuff, and being filmed really isn't for me. Growing my own plants feels far more relaxing than performing in front of a camera ever could. Both are rewarding in their own way, but gardening suits my character much better. I'll show you the actual photos properly tomorrow — night, Sophie!
