Task 4. Imagine that you and your friend are doing a school project “Sports”. You have found some photos to illustrate it but for technical reasons you cannot send them now. Leave a voice message to your friend explaining your choice of the photos and sharing some ideas about the project. In 2.5 minutes be ready to:
·explain the choice of the illustrations for the project by briefly describing them and noting the differences;
·mention the advantages (1–2) of the two kinds of sports;
·mention the disadvantages (1–2) of the two kinds of sports;
·express your opinion on the subject of the project – which of these sports you’d prefer and why.
You will speak for not more than 3 minutes (12–15 sentences). You have to talk continuously.

Что нужно сделать. 1) объяснить выбор фотографий, кратко описав их и отметив различия; 2) назвать 1–2 достоинства двух видов спорта; 3) назвать 1–2 недостатка этих видов спорта; 4) высказать мнение — какой из этих видов спорта вы предпочли бы и почему.

Lily, hi! Sports project — two photos, and honestly they couldn't be more different. The first is a bunch of teenagers playing volleyball outside on what looks like a really sunny day. The second has several players in helmets and skates out on a rink, playing bandy — hockey played with a ball rather than a puck. A summer game on a court, a winter one on ice — about as different as two sports can get, which is the whole idea.
Bandy's fast and properly exciting, and it teaches real teamwork once you're out there on the ice. Volleyball's just as much of a team sport, though, and it barely needs any special kit to get going. The trouble with bandy is the cost — you need a rink and protective gear just to start. Volleyball has its own limit too: you can really only play it outdoors once the weather warms up.
For me, volleyball wins, no question — I love being outside with my friends once summer hits. Bandy looks brilliant, honestly, but I've never learnt to skate well enough to actually play it properly. Both keep you active, which is the main thing, but volleyball just suits me more. Right, that's my two cents on sport — see you at training!
