Task 4. Imagine that you and your friend are doing a school project “Tastes differ”. You have found some photos to illustrate it but for technical reasons you cannot send them now. Leave a voice message to your friend explaining your choice of the photos and sharing some ideas about the project. In 2.5 minutes be ready to:
- explain the choice of the illustrations for the project by briefly describing them and noting the differences;
- mention the advantages (1–2) of the two hobbies;
- mention the disadvantages (1–2) of the two hobbies;
- express your opinion on the subject of the project – which of these hobbies you would prefer and why.
You will speak for not more than 3 minutes (1215 sentences). You have to talk continuously.

Что нужно сделать. 1) кратко описать фотографии, обосновав их выбор; 2) сказать, чем фотографии отличаются, также обосновав выбор; 3) назвать 1–2 достоинства и 1–2 недостатка двух увлечений; 4) высказать мнение — какое из этих увлечений вы бы предпочли и почему.

Tom! Two hobby photos for the “Tastes differ” project, and they show just how different two people's tastes can be. One's completely calm, the other's all about movement. In the first, a couple's sitting on the floor by an easel, painting a picture together. In the second, a man's standing on an ice rink, just holding his skates and grinning.
Painting lets you get your feelings onto the canvas, which is pretty relaxing in itself. Skating works the other way round — it keeps you moving and helps you make the most of winter. The trouble with painting is patience — the result rarely turns out how you first imagined it. Skating's rough on beginners too, since falling on the ice leads to injuries more often than people expect.
I'd go for skating myself — I like being active, and that cold winter air just wakes me up. Painting's lovely for a quiet evening, sure, but skating gives me way more energy. Both are enjoyable in their own way, honestly, but skating fits my character better. Skating it is, then, as far as I'm concerned — chat tomorrow!
