Task 4. Imagine that you and your friend are doing a school project “Hobbies”. You have found some illustrations and want to share the news. Leave a voice message to your friend. In 2.5 minutes be ready to:
·explain the choice of the illustrations for the project by briefly describing them and noting
the differences;
·mention the advantages (12) of the two hobbies;
·mention the disadvantages (12) of the two hobbies;
·express your opinion on the subject of the project which of the hobbies presented in the pictures you’d prefer and why.
You will speak for not more than 3 minutes (1215 sentences). You have to talk continuously.

Что нужно сделать. Кратко описать обе фотографии для проекта «Увлечения», отметить, чем они различаются, и связать их с темой проекта; назвать 1–2 достоинства и 1–2 недостатка двух увлечений; высказать своё мнение — какое из этих двух увлечений вы бы предпочли и почему — и обосновать его; начать высказывание с обращения к другу и завершить его прощальной фразой.

Hi Chris! I've picked two photos for our "Hobbies" project, and I think they show two really different ways to spend free time. The first one is quite lively — two kids, a girl and a boy, are playing a grand piano together at home, with sheet music open on the stand in front of them. The second is much calmer: a girl with a yellow watering can and a young woman are planting orange flowers in a vegetable garden, while a man digs the soil behind them. So while one photo shows an indoor hobby you do together at an instrument, the other is all about working outdoors with plants, which covers two completely different sides of having a hobby. Now, about the good sides — learning the piano builds real patience, and there's nothing like the feeling of finally nailing a tricky piece. Gardening, meanwhile, is wonderfully relaxing, and you get to see the results of your work grow right in front of you. That said, playing the piano well takes daily practice, and decent instruments don't come cheap. Gardening has its downside too — it depends completely on the weather, and it can leave you pretty tired. Weighing it all up, I'd go for playing an instrument every time. It just feels far more creative, and you actually end up with a skill to show for it. Anyway, I'd love to hear which one you'd go for. Text me back when you get a sec. Bye for now, Chris!
