Вопрос опроса: «The most dangerous environmental problems». «Global warming» — 44%; «Air pollution» — 22%; «Water pollution» — 16%; «Deforestation» — 12%; «Rare species extinction» — 6%.
Возможный ответ (38.1).
I am currently doing a school project that looks at the environmental issues that worry teenagers in Zetland the most. To collect information, I found the results of an opinion poll carried out among Zetland teenagers on this subject.
The table demonstrates that 44 percent of the teenagers questioned named "global warming" as the greatest threat, and 22 percent chose "air pollution" instead. A smaller group, 16 percent, considered "water pollution" the most dangerous problem.
If we compare the two least alarming issues, only 12 percent mentioned "deforestation", while a mere 6 percent picked "rare species extinction". Teenagers clearly worry more about problems affecting the air and climate than about more distant issues. Such a wide gap between the top two problems and the rest indicates that climate-related issues dominate teenagers' concerns far more than any other environmental topic at present.
Illegal waste dumping near rivers is a real difficulty facing my own region, harming both the water and the wildlife that depends on it. Installing cameras in the worst-affected spots and introducing heavy fines could finally put a stop to it. Local schools could also organise regular volunteer clean-up days to involve teenagers directly in the solution.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that environmental protection should matter enormously to teenagers everywhere, because we are precisely the generation that will have to live with the consequences of the decisions being made about the planet today.
Вопрос опроса: «What is most important about the New Year celebration for Zetlanders». «Family celebration» — 43%; «Holiday atmosphere» — 27%; «Presents» — 17%; «Special food» — 7%; «New Year TV programmes» — 6%.
Возможный ответ (38.2).
I am currently working on a school project that explores what makes the New Year celebration special for Zetlanders. To research this, I found a bar chart with the results of an opinion poll conducted among Zetlanders about this holiday.
The data reveal that 43 percent of the respondents named "family celebration" as the most important part of the New Year, while 27 percent chose "holiday atmosphere" instead. A further 17 percent said that "presents" mattered most to them.
Comparing the two least popular answers is interesting: only 7 percent picked "special food", and just 6 percent mentioned "New Year TV programmes". Zetlanders clearly value time with people far more than the material side of the holiday. The gap between the top two answers and the rest indicates that most Zetlanders link the New Year mainly to togetherness rather than to any material or entertainment aspect of the holiday.
Not every family manages to gather together for the New Year, since distance or work often keeps relatives apart on the night itself. A video call at midnight would let everyone join the celebration, even from far away. Sharing photos from the celebration afterwards can also help everyone feel a little more included.
In conclusion, I am convinced that family celebrations are extremely important in our lives, because the moments shared with relatives during the New Year create memories that no present, however expensive, or television programme could ever truly replace.
