Zetlanders who are parents of school-age children. Проблема выбора школы для ребёнка (пункт 4 плана); мнение о самом важном факторе при выборе школы (пункт 5 плана).
Данные таблицы. Вопрос опроса: «Why have you chosen this school for your children?». «High quality of teaching» — 48%; «Modern technical equipment» — 18%; «Excellent sports facilities» — 13%; «Safety reputation» — 11%; «Location» — 10%.
Возможный ответ (38.1).
I am currently doing a school project that looks at how Zetland parents choose a school for their children. To collect data, I found the results of an opinion poll conducted among Zetlanders who are parents of school-age children.
The table shows that 48 percent of the parents surveyed named "high quality of teaching" as their main criterion, while 18 percent chose "modern technical equipment" instead. A further 13 percent value "excellent sports facilities". These figures make clear how highly Zetland parents rate classroom experience above all else.
If we compare the two least common criteria, only 11 percent mentioned "safety reputation", and merely 10 percent picked "location". What happens inside the classroom clearly matters more than distance or safety reputation. The sharp drop between the leading answer and the rest suggests that, for most Zetland parents, no other single factor comes close to matching the importance of good teaching.
Official school rankings do not always reflect what genuinely matters for a particular child. Visiting several schools in person and talking to current parents before deciding usually gives a far more accurate picture. Reading independent reviews written by other parents can also reveal a great deal that official brochures leave out.
In conclusion, in my opinion, how well children are actually taught matters most for Zetland parents when they select a school, because no equipment or facility can ever truly replace a genuinely skilled and caring teacher.
Вопрос опроса: «Where do you spend time with your friends most often?». «Recreational centres and gyms» — 32%; «Parks and public spaces» — 25%; «Home» — 19%; «Bookstores and libraries» — 14%; «Coffee shops and cafés» — 10%.
Возможный ответ (38.2).
I am currently working on a school project that explores where Zetland teenagers usually meet their friends. To research this, I found a pie chart with the results of an opinion poll conducted among Zetland teenagers about their favourite meeting places.
The data reveal that 32 percent of the respondents most often meet friends at "recreational centres and gyms", while 25 percent prefer "parks and public spaces". A further 19 percent simply choose to stay "home".
Comparing the two least popular places is interesting: only 14 percent picked "bookstores and libraries", and just 10 percent chose "coffee shops and cafés". Active, physical spaces clearly attract teenagers more than quiet indoor venues. The fairly even spread across the first three answers suggests that Zetland teenagers value active, easily accessible places over quieter indoor venues when meeting their friends.
Busy public places can be noisy and, at times, too expensive for a teenager with a limited budget. Providing more free-entry parks and public spaces specifically for teenagers in every district would remove this obstacle. Local councils could also add more free seating and shelter to make these spaces usable in any weather.
To conclude, in my opinion, an outdoor public space such as a park suits teenagers best when they want to meet their friends, because it costs nothing to use and remains genuinely open to absolutely everyone, regardless of their budget.
