Задание 38.1 (на основе таблицы).

Что нужно сделать. Тема проекта — какие жанры фильмов популярны среди подростков в Зетландии. Источник данных — результаты опроса среди подростков Зетландии о любимых жанрах кино. По плану: вступление о теме проекта и об опросе; 2–3 факта с цифрами; 1–2 сравнения с комментарием; проблема, связанная с слишком частым просмотром фильмов, и её решение; в заключении — мнение автора о важности просмотра фильмов в нашей жизни с обоснованием.

I am currently working on a project about the film genres that are popular among teenagers in Zetland. To get some data, I have found the results of an opinion poll conducted among teenage respondents in Zetland, and I would like to share what I have learned.

According to the table, 42 per cent of the respondents named "fantasy, sci-fi" as their favourite genre, while 23 per cent chose horror and thriller. Comedy comes third with 18 per cent, and only 5 per cent of the teenagers picked detective films.

It is clear that fantasy and sci-fi are almost twice as popular as horror and thriller, and more than eight times as popular as detective films, which came last on the list. This shows that teenagers are mostly drawn to imaginative stories rather than realistic crime plots.

However, watching films too often can be a problem, especially when it quietly eats into the time meant for homework and outdoor activities. To solve this, teenagers could set a fixed daily limit for screen time and choose films together with their family rather than alone.

In conclusion, I believe that watching movies plays an important role in our life, since it helps young people relax, learn about other cultures and develop imagination, provided that it is done in moderation and does not replace other activities that matter just as much.

По плану: вступление о теме проекта и об опросе; 2–3 факта с цифрами; 1–2 сравнения с комментарием; проблема, связанная с освоением математики, и её решение; в заключении — мнение автора о важности изучения математики в жизни человека с обоснованием.

I am currently working on a project about why people should study mathematics in Zetland. To collect some data, I have found the results of an opinion poll conducted among the residents of Zetland, and the answers turned out to be quite revealing about their motives.

The bar chart shows that the most common reason, chosen by 31 per cent of the respondents, is "to practice analytical thinking". A good career comes second with 22 per cent, followed by training the brain, mentioned by 17 per cent, and understanding the world better, named by 16 per cent.

Developing analytical thinking is nearly twice as popular a reason as understanding the world better, and more than twice as popular as developing problem-solving skills, named by only 14 per cent. This suggests that Zetlanders view mathematics mainly as a tool for mental training rather than a way of making sense of everyday life.

That said, getting to grips with the subject can be genuinely hard for many learners, who often struggle with abstract concepts and gradually lose interest. A possible solution would be to introduce more practical, real-life examples into lessons, so that the material feels less detached from everyday experience.

To conclude, I firmly believe that studying mathematics is essential in human life, as it trains logical thinking and problem-solving skills that are useful in almost every profession, regardless of whether a person becomes a scientist or chooses a completely different career path.
