Задание 38.1 (на основе таблицы).

Что нужно сделать. Тема проекта — почему некоторые студенты в Зетландии подрабатывают во время учебного года. Источник данных — результаты опроса среди работающих студентов Зетландии. По плану: вступление о теме проекта и об опросе; 2–3 факта с цифрами; 1–2 сравнения с комментарием; проблема, связанная с совмещением подработки с учебным годом, и её решение; в заключении — мнение автора о важности подработки для студентов с обоснованием.

I am currently working on a project about the reasons that push some Zetland students towards taking a job while they are still studying. To gather some data, I have found the results of an opinion poll conducted among working students across the country.

The table shows that more than half of the respondents, 55 per cent, work "to improve their living conditions", while 15 per cent do it to gain work experience. Gaining financial independence from parents was named by 12 per cent, and earning money for travelling by 10 per cent of the students.

Improving living conditions is more than five times as common a reason as earning money for travelling, which only 10 per cent selected, and almost seven times as common as spending free time usefully, chosen by 8 per cent of the young people.

Combining a job with full-time study, however, tends to leave precious little time for coursework, and grades can quietly suffer as a result. Choosing flexible working hours and drawing up a realistic weekly timetable helps keep both sides of student life in check.

To sum up, I believe that taking on paid work is genuinely worthwhile for students, as it teaches responsibility and builds financial independence, provided the number of hours worked never crowds out the time needed for academic success.

I am currently working on a project about the reasons why teenagers in Zetland tend to stay up so late. To collect some data, I have found the results of an opinion poll conducted among teenagers in Zetland about their evening habits and routines.

The pie chart reveals that more than half of the respondents, 55 per cent, stay up late "listening to music", while 15 per cent chat on the Internet. Watching TV was named by 12 per cent, doing home assignments by 10 per cent, and only 8 per cent play computer games.

Listening to music is more than six times as popular a reason as playing computer games, and it is also considerably more common than doing home assignments late, which suggests that relaxation, rather than schoolwork or entertainment online, is what most often keeps teenagers awake.

Once a regular bedtime slips, tiredness tends to build up quietly and starts affecting concentration at school as well as everyday mood. Setting a fixed time to switch off devices and go to bed, even just half an hour earlier, can make a noticeable difference.

In conclusion, I am convinced that a healthy lifestyle, including enough sleep, is essential for teenagers, because it directly shapes their academic performance and their physical and emotional well-being over the years.
