Task 4. Imagine that you and your friend are doing a school project “School subjects”. You have found some photos to illustrate it but for technical reasons you cannot send them now. Leave a voice message to your friend explaining your choice of the photos and sharing some ideas about the project. In 2.5 minutes be ready to:
·explain the choice of the illustrations for the project by briefly describing them and noting the differences;
·mention the advantages (1–2) of the two school subjects;
·mention the disadvantages (1–2) of the two school subjects;
·express your opinion on the subject of the project – which of these school subjects you preferred as a school student and why.
You will speak for not more than 3 minutes (12–15 sentences). You have to talk continuously.

Фотографии. 1) мальчик на уроке химии держит колбу с синей жидкостью, перед ним пробирки с цветными растворами; 2) девушка у большой карты мира указывает на неё карандашом, в руках у неё красная папка.
Что нужно сделать. Кратко описать обе фотографии для проекта «Школьные предметы», отметить, чем они различаются, и связать их с темой проекта; назвать 1–2 достоинства и 1–2 недостатка двух школьных предметов; высказать своё мнение — какой из этих предметов вы предпочитали, когда учились в школе, и почему — и обосновать его; начать высказывание с обращения к другу и завершить его прощальной фразой.

Hi Leo! I've been thinking about our "School subjects" project, and I've picked two photos to go with it. The first shows a boy in the school lab holding up a flask of blue liquid, with test tubes of colourful chemicals lined up in front of him. The second shows a girl standing by a large world map, pointing at it with a pencil while holding a red folder, and unlike the chemistry lesson, this subject is all about maps and countries rather than experiments. Chemistry is fascinating because of the hands-on experiments, and it really helps you understand how the world works. Geography, meanwhile, teaches you about different countries and cultures, which comes in handy whenever you travel. On the other hand, chemistry can get pretty tricky, and working with chemicals always carries a small risk. Geography involves memorising an enormous number of facts and place names, which isn't for everyone. If I had to choose, I'd go with chemistry every time. It's just a far more exciting, hands-on subject than geography, in my opinion. I always loved the experiments best. Anyway, that's my take on it. Let me know which one you'd pick. Talk soon, Leo!
