Task 4. Imagine that you and your friend are doing a school project “Preparing for exams”. You have found some photos to illustrate it but for technical reasons you cannot send them now. Leave a voice message to your friend explaining your choice of the photos and sharing some ideas about the project. In 2.5 minutes be ready to:
- explain the choice of the illustrations for the project by briefly describing them and noting the differences;
- mention the advantages (1–2) of the two types of preparing for exams;
- mention the disadvantages (1–2) of the two types of preparing for exams;
- express your opinion on the subject of the project – whether you prefer preparing for exams alone or in somebody’s company and why.
You will speak for not more than 3 minutes (1215 sentences). You have to talk continuously.

Holly, hi there! Here's what I've got for the "Preparing for exams" project — two photos worth talking about. The first shows a girl sitting alone at her desk with a laptop and a notebook, working quietly in her room. The second shows four students sitting together at a table in the library, surrounded by books, revising as a group. So instead of one person studying by herself, here it's several friends working through the material together, which really shows the two sides of exam prep. Studying alone helps you concentrate properly, and you can move through the material at your own pace. Studying in a group lets you discuss the tricky bits and explain things to each other. That said, studying alone can feel a bit lonely, and there's no one around if you get stuck. Group study has its problems too — people start chatting, and it's easy to get distracted. Personally, I'd always choose preparing for exams alone. It's just so much easier to focus when everything around me is quiet. I get through far more work that way. Anyway, that's roughly my view.
