I am currently working on a project about why some Zetlanders move to big cities. To gather some data, I have found the results of an opinion poll conducted among people who had recently relocated within Zetland, and their answers were quite telling.
According to the table, 34 per cent of the respondents moved "to get a new job", and 27 per cent did so to develop their own business. Getting a better education was named by 26 per cent, entertainment by 8 per cent, while only 5 per cent moved to make new friends.
Finding a new job is only slightly more popular a reason than developing a business, but it is nearly seven times more common than making new friends, which suggests that economic motives outweigh social ones for most movers considering such a change.
Relocating rarely comes without difficulties, however: newcomers to a big city often find that housing costs far more than they expected, leaving little money for anything else. Careful research into the cost of living before the move can prevent this kind of unpleasant surprise.
To conclude, I believe that living in a big city offers valuable career and educational opportunities, although it also demands careful financial planning, and anyone considering such a step should weigh the benefits against the expenses well in advance.

I am currently working on a project about what topics Zetland teenagers most enjoy exploring for their school projects. To collect some data, I have found the results of an opinion poll conducted among school students in Zetland about their favourite subjects to research.
The pie chart shows that "environmental issues" was the most popular choice, selected by 32 per cent of the respondents, while 25 per cent preferred culture and arts. Social issues came third with 19 per cent, politics with 16 per cent, and must-read books were chosen by only 8 per cent.
Environmental issues attracted exactly twice as many students as politics, and four times as many as must-read books, showing that teenagers are considerably more concerned with global problems affecting the planet than with purely literary subjects.
Working on a project of this kind is not always straightforward, though: students frequently find it hard to locate sources of information they can trust. Teaching them to check a website's credibility before relying on it would go a long way towards solving this.
In conclusion, I think that projects like this one are genuinely valuable, because they teach young people research and presentation skills that will serve them well throughout their studies and later careers, no matter which subject they end up choosing.
